Our Story

D4 is a modern take on the more traditional, authentic Irish local. Spear headed by Irish ex-pat Dermot Murphy, D4 has operated for over a decade across the Wellington region.  After moving abroad from Dublin to Wellington the Murphy's brought their Irish postcode 'D4' with them. 

Soon after Dermot moved to New Zealand, his brother and sister quickly followed suit. D4 can confidently be called a family owned and operated business. This has been a big part of D4's success - customers become friends and staff become family.  

D4 aims to provide consistent/meaningful customer service which emulates the experience of a traditional Irish local, while also offering a large selection of international and local craft beer that is forever changing. D4’s atmosphere is great to watch live sport and celebrate the milestones in life!
