Coopers Sparkling Ale was the beer that put me on to craft brewing. Back in 1989 I moved from New Zealand to Sydney, and discovered this stuff. After the sweet, 4% NZ draughts, this came as a real revelation, and it taught me there was more to beer than finding the cheapest jug. Coopers is a fresh, fruity ale, a real summer beer. Forget any preconceptions about warm English real ale - Coopers is more like a wheat beer with its bright white head, vivacious carbonation and its cloudy yeast.
